About me My work Classes Exhibitions Links Under Construction

I have been lucky enough to have my work included in various exhibitions over the years and will highlight the latest events and some of the content on this page.

Cliffe Castle ran from 2nd Oct 2010 to 5th June 2011
As part of the flaX group I had a number of pieces on show within Cliffe Castle. Inspiration was taken from the working landscapes section of the museum. I used a technique I developed some time ago using mark making practices to transfer rust from metal onto fabric. Using this fabric I could then get a more direct relationship with the cast iron work in the museum.

'First Impressions' at Helmshore Textile Museum ran from 15th April 2011 to 2nd May 2011
‘First Impressions’ was the initial exhibition preparing for a larger show ‘On Close Inspection' at Helmshore in 2012 .
In this exhibition flaX took inspiration from Lancashire’s textile industry exhibited at Helmshore Textile Museum.

'Little Green Textiles'at the Gallery on the Green, Settle March 2011
Along with the other members of the 4Fold group I had seven postcard sized pieces on show which use fabrics that were hand dyed with rusting techniques then hand stitched, layered and print work. The theme of the exhibition was aspects of Settle, I chose to focus on the caves around Settle.
